Season 6 episode 7 - Known Unknowns

No thanks to baseball, we've been without House for 3 weeks now. The least I can say is that no one cares if the Yankees won another world series, no one likes the doping cheaters, but thankfully that's over and House is back. This episode was interesting to say the least, lets start with a quick recap.

There were 3 different stories happening at the same time.

The patient was a young teenage girl that fainted because of sever inflammation of her joints. House had a theory, which ended it being semi-correct, it ended up being one of the symptoms of what the girl had. The biggest problem was, there was so much inflammation in the girl's brain that she was incapable of telling the truth (not that House expected her to anyways). Later on, House has an epiphany while talking to Wilson and discovers that the girl has hemochromatosis. Feel free to read more about it on google health at the following link: https://health.google.com/health/ref/Hemochromatosis

The second sub-story was Chase and Cameron's relationship and what was going on. Chase was still killing himself over what had happened with Dibala and had yet to tell Cameron about it (Thus effecting their relationship). Cameron continues to question why Chase is being so distant from her. She asks Foreman if he's having an affair, etc... Later on after the case came to a close, Chase decided to finally tell her that he was responsible for Dibala's death, and thus came the end of the episode.

The third and probably main sub-story of the episode was that House, Wilson and Cuddy all went out of town to a pharmaceutical conference. This sub-story in itself has 2 different sub-sub-stories. The first was House dealing with Wilson. Wilson was suppose to give a speech at the conference, House then finds the speech and discovers that Wilson is about to commit career suicide by admitting that he had euthanized a patient before in his career. We had met the patient earlier in the episode, but we didn't discover that was him until House decided to drug Wilson and to say his speech for him (under a different name). After fighting House for a while, Wilson later admitted how grateful he was to House for sharing his speech and preventing him from putting his career on the line. House was also, at the same time, trying to tell Cuddy that he cares for her. Cuddy, of course, was reluctant to accept his feelings - we discover later that its because she has started a relationship with Lucas (detective that House hired last season to investigate his team).

It was an interesting episode to say the least, for the first time ever in 6 seasons, we're seeing more and more of House's vulnerable side. His true feelings for Cuddy are coming out and in this episode, we see how far back they go. His care for his best friend Wilson are coming out and those were shown by how far he was willing to go to protect him, him medical license and his reputation. Even his feelings for his former team are coming out when he was trying to help Chase and Cameron in his own weird manipulative way. They're trying to show House as a changed person, but really they're just showing him as the person that we've known him to be all along. We've always seen these glimpses of House in previous episodes in previous seasons, but they were always masked by his antics. We can only wonder where the writers will go from here...

The next episode of House will air next Monday Nov 16th on Fox at 8pm.

As always, here is the preview:
